Turmeric root is roughly 3% curcumin. This extract is standardised to 95% — the concentrated form used in formulation, and a long way from the ground turmeric in the spice rack.
Curcumin is what gives turmeric its deep gold colour and most of its interest, so an extract at this strength is intensely pigmented and needs very little to go a long way. It is a single ingredient with nothing carried alongside it: no maltodextrin, no anti-caking agent, no bulking powder. Bulk sizes up to 10 kg are available for formulators and manufacturers.
Who it's for: formulators, blenders and bulk buyers, and home users who want the raw standardised extract rather than a finished capsule.
How to use: A small pinch is enough for most drinks. Mix into golden milk, teas, smoothies or wellness blends. Curcumin is fat-soluble, so it disperses better in milk or with a little oil than in plain water. It stains — keep it away from light countertops.
