Chlorella is a single-celled freshwater green algae, and one of the densest whole-food sources of chlorophyll and plant protein you can buy. These are 500 mg tablets — the same chlorella as our chlorella powder, pressed so you can take it without tasting it.
Two details matter with chlorella. First, the cell wall: it is tough cellulose that passes through undigested, so ours is mechanically broken to make the contents available. Second, the drying: we use a very low heat (VLT) process rather than high-heat spray drying, which is gentler on the heat-sensitive nutrients. Our chlorella is grown in Hawaii in freshwater pools fortified with deep-sea mineral water, then pressed into tablets and packed in Canada.
