Spirulina is a freshwater-grown cyanobacterium with a nutritional profile few plants can match: complete protein containing all nine essential amino acids, plus B vitamins, iron, beta-carotene and the blue pigment phycocyanin.

How it is dried matters more than most labels admit. High-heat spray drying is cheap but hard on phycocyanin, vitamins and enzymes. We use a very low heat (VLT) process, which is why this powder comes out deep blue-green rather than dull. It is grown in Hawaii in freshwater pools fortified with mineral-rich deep-sea water, then tested and packed in Ontario.

  • Very low heat (VLT) drying process

  • Packed in Canada from Hawaiian-grown spirulina
  • Third-party tested for heavy metals — COA on this page
  • Tested for iodine — none detected
  • Sizes: 50 g, 100 g, 250 g
  • NPN 80145852

Who it's for: athletes, smoothie drinkers and plant-based eaters who want to control their own dose. If you would rather not taste it, we also make spirulina tablets.

How to use: Start with 1/2 teaspoon daily and build to 1 to 2 teaspoons. Mix into smoothies, juice or water. Spirulina tastes earthy and savoury — banana, mango or pineapple handle it best.

Recommended use: Source of antioxidants for the maintenance of good health.
