Make it yours
Ecogenya Gourmet Wolfiporia cocos, also known as Poria or Fu Ling, is an 18:1 dual extract (enzymatic and hot water) made from organic fruiting bodies and sclerotia — the same extraction as our standard Poria — milled into a fine, pale powder that dissolves easily. It is part of our Gourmet everyday range: culinary-grade mushroom extract sold as a food ingredient rather than a licensed supplement.
Poria is one of the oldest cooking mushrooms in East Asia, traditionally simmered into congee, soups and herbal broths. Unlike most mushrooms it grows underground as a dense sclerotium on pine roots, which is why we extract both the fruiting body and the sclerotium rather than settling for grain-grown mycelium. Each batch is verified at a minimum of 35% beta-glucans.
Flavour and how to use it: mild, clean and nearly neutral with a faint sweetness. Stir a small spoonful into congee, broths, soups, warm milk, tea or smoothies. Because it carries almost no flavour of its own, it is easy to add to savoury and sweet recipes alike.
One of the harder mushrooms to find in Canada as a clean, verified extract.
