Ecogenya Gourmet Turkey Tail is a 27:1 dual extract (enzymatic and hot water) of organic Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) fruiting bodies — the same extraction as our standard Turkey Tail — milled into a fine powder for everyday cooking and brewing. It belongs to our Gourmet everyday range: culinary-grade mushroom extract sold as a food ingredient rather than a licensed supplement.

Turkey Tail is the banded, fan-shaped bracket fungus you find on fallen hardwood across Canada. It is far too tough to eat whole, so it has traditionally been simmered into tea, and extraction is the only sensible way to use it. Our batches are verified at a minimum of 47% beta-glucans, the highest in the Gourmet range, made from fruiting bodies only rather than grain-grown mycelium.

Flavour and how to use it: mild, clean and earthy, with none of the bitterness of Reishi. Blend a small spoonful into coffee, tea, smoothies, broths and soups, or simmer it as a simple mushroom tea.
