Ecogenya Gourmet Reishi is a 10:1 dual extract (enzymatic and hot water) of organic Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) fruiting bodies — the same extraction as our standard Reishi — milled into a fine powder that dissolves quickly in hot or cold liquid. It belongs to our Gourmet everyday range: culinary-grade mushroom extract sold as a food ingredient, so it can live in the kitchen next to your spices.
Reishi has one of the longest histories of any culinary mushroom in East Asia, where it has been simmered into teas and broths for centuries. It is a woody, tough mushroom, which is exactly why extraction matters. We use fruiting bodies only, never grain-grown mycelium, and each batch is verified at a minimum of 35% beta-glucans, the marker used to gauge how concentrated a mushroom extract really is.
Flavour and how to use it: deep, woody and naturally bitter. Stir a small spoonful into coffee, cocoa or bone broth, or brew it as a tea. A little honey, cinnamon or cardamom balances the bitterness beautifully.
